Annapolis Light House Shelter
St Martin’s has long supported the Annapolis Light House, a place of belonging and hope for our most vulnerable neighbors. Their services are tailored for each client, and they strive to help their residents and other housing insecure community members stabilize their health, maximize their income, and secure safe and stable housing. In addition to providing food, clothing, and shelter, the staff also address the underlying causes of homelessness such as lack of marketable job skills, addiction, and the debilitating effects of both mental and physical health issues.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Light House has seen a 40% increase in the number of clients they serve, and a 60% increase in the amount of food distributed through the Food Pantry. Your support is greatly needed at this time. Please explore their website https://annapolislighthouse.org/.
Sharing a Meal with the Light House Shelter |
Please consider signing up to provide a meal to the residents at the Light House. An individual, family, team, or group can sign up to provide a meal on a Monday for 65 at the Light House. This is a long running ministry that St. Martin’s has provided to the Light House and we hope to keep it going strong. Please sign up to provide a meal at the following Sign up Genius link https://www.signupgenius.
The meal can be prepared and dropped off on the 2nd Monday of the month at 3 p.m. or the meal can be prepared, reheated and served by the group directly to the residents.
If you are an individual who would like to help, let us know. We can connect individuals who can work together to provide a meal. Feel free to contact Sandy Ourisson at sourisson1006@gmail.com or Marlys McDevitt at mcdevitt4@gmail.com if you have any questions about the meal or the Lighthouse.
